Congratulations to our memorial flight training scholarship winners! We had an especially large and well-qualified group of applicants this year.

Lauren Hoyt of Bothell will be a senior this year and is also in the Cascadia College Running Start program. She aims for an airline career.

Shane McConville just graduated from Kennedy Catholic. He intends to enroll at South Dakota State University and plans to be a commercial pilot.

Patrick McKeehan is from Lake Tapps and attends Auburn Riverside. He plans to start his training at Green River CC to become an airline pilot.

Dylan Michael of Bremerton plans to attend Central Washington this fall. As his father is a career State Patrol trooper, Dylan hopes to become a State Patrol pilot.

Thank you again to our partner, Galvin Flying, which donates the private pilot ground school tuition. Our scholars also receive the books and supplies they need for the course and two instructional flights.

We also thank all our generous contributors who, with their donations to our scholarship program, are helping us to fulfill our mission to our youth.

For more than a decade Cascade Warbirds has teamed with several flight schools in the Puget Sound area to inspire today’s young people to become the aviation pioneers of tomorrow.

This scholarship is available for students between the ages of 16 and 21 at the time of award and is valued at $1,350.

Cascade Warbirds is Squadron #2 of EAA Warbirds of America. With about 250 members — the largest squadron in Warbirds of America — Cascade Warbirds normally meets at the Museum of Flight in Seattle from October through March. Learn more at CascadeWarbirds.org.
