Last week, Cascade Warbirds CO John “Smokey” Johnson arrived at Joint-Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. Smokey, his T-6, and crew chief Dave Richardson joined numerous other warbirds and their caretakers on board USS Essex for the trip to Hawaii.
After completing their Hawaii quarantine, they plan to participate in V-J Day celebrations in early September. So far, Smokey has been able to get his T-6 back in the air for proficiency flights.
