Veterans

Our veteran outreach efforts support activities for our special member veterans. These include local news interviews, transportation assistance to events, recognition celebrations, sharing their stories, flight experiences, and memorial flyovers. We have had a special emphasis in recent years on our WWII veterans.

In addition, we educate our members and visitors by celebrating the accomplishments of and honoring the hardships endured by our veterans at squadron meetings. Some have chosen to present, sharing the details of their stories in the skies – and sometimes on the ground and on or in the water. Our November meetings begin by recognizing the veterans in the audience and each is invited to share a few words about his or her story.
