Minutes of the Meeting of the Membership
12 February 2005, Museum of Flight, Seattle
The XO called the meeting to order at 1015 hours. There were 38 members and guests in attendance.
The following occurred:
1 - Fred gave a status report re: our presence at NWOC starting 24 Feb. Crash reiterated how important this function is for warbird owners and encouraged all to attend.
2 - The B-17 tour stop info is now public. The Fuddy Duddy will be in Seattle 2 - 6 June. Contact Doug Owens to volunteer to help with the various tasks.
3 - Curt mentioned that brochures are available for J. Richardson's schooner trips.
4 - John Clark mentioned the tentative dates for this year's air-to-air photo shoot.
5 - Crash mentioned the importance of crowd appreciation and response, specifically how the Eugene, OR, folks reacted during his TBM flight in 2003.
6 - Bruce Meyers, USMC, Col - Ret, was introduced and his books mentioned. They were for sale and autographs were included.
7 - Fred mentioned (A) It's never too early to pay 2005 dues, (B) Reno Air Race tickets for our box seating are still available, (C) Jack Allen had created DVDs of our 2004 season and they were available for a nominal contribution.
8) Curt mentioned that the March meeting will be held at the Museum's Restoration Center at Paine Field at 10 AM and that lunch will be no-host pizza.
9 - Crash mentioned that we have secured lodging for Oshkosh; contact Desmon to participate.
10 - Our guest speakers, Mark Allen and colleagues from Underwater Admiralty Services, showed video and explained how a Boeing B-17 lost in a lake in Labrador in 1947 was located, raised from the bottom, and transported to Georgia where it is currently undergoing restoration. The presentation was well received and extremely informative.
The meeting was adjourned at approximately 1215 hours.
